Casa Margarita is a lovely adobe home, personal, filled with art, located on a quiet street, perhaps half a mile pleasant walk from Taos Plaza, with driveway parking for 3-4 vehicles. We chose to drive, no parking issues at the plaza. Huge well-equipped
kitchen works well for several helpers. A spacious private back yard has lots of seating, playing room for kids, gas grill, wood-burning firepit. Large open space living/dining/kitchen area. Two bathrooms off hallway; smaller one has the shower; larger one
has lots of counter space, towel storage & tub only. The three bedrooms are comfortable & private for 3 couples. House is advertised as sleeping 8, which is true; but our family had 7 adults & 2 young kids which proved to be a bit of a challenge. A crib &
double bed are available in half the den area, no door, but a privacy screen; as the only TV is in the other half, doesn't work if someone is napping. Two bedrooms are right off the den, third end of hall. There is no air conditioner/swamp cooler. It got warm
a few times during our stay, a hot mid-August, even at 7500 feet. The fan we brought was very helpful, but it would be nice if some were provided. Taos is a wonderful town to visit, many varied shops, galleries, nearly a dozen museums, all types of restaurants
& all amenities. Very friendly, clean & quite charming. Don’t miss the World Heritage site of Taos Pueblo, just out of town, occupied continuously over 1000 years. Also recommended: Kit Carson Park with playground, picnic areas, convenient to bike from the
house; beautiful Taos Art Museum, an older adobe building, restored by artist Nicolai Fechin, full of original art, unique hand carved doors & furniture, gift shop, on a lushly landscaped site, not far from the Plaza. The caretaker is pleasant to deal with
& happy to answer any questions. This is a wonderful house for all adults/older children. The low mountain setting of northern New
